Nexity Bank announces the launch of Alabama’s first true on line bank, nexitybank.com. The $54 million Birmingham-based company will begin taking deposits Tuesday, February 22, according to bank Chairman and CEO, Greg Lee.

Nexity Bank customers will have full access to interest checking, money market checking, savings accounts, CD’s, ATM/Check Cards, on-line bill pay, overdraft protection, home equity lines and loans. According to Nexity Bank president, David Long, the issues raised most frequently by potential on-line users are how deposits are handled and how customers access cash. “Deposits will be taken electronically by wire transfer or by sending a check or money order by mail,” said Long. “ATM/Check Cards enable customers access to their funds worldwide.”
